Purchased Twonky, but received no license key.

I've purchased, paid, but received no license key. There was an error at the time of purchase, and I was supposed to receive an email within 24 hours. It's been 72 hours, and I've received nothing. Now I'm thinking I'll have to reverse the charge. :-(

There's no phone, but not even an email for customer support? I'd like to talk to someone about my situation, but that doesn't seem possible. Frustrated.

Hi, i installed Twonky server 7.2 on my Linux box and after beaming content from local site http://127.0.0.1:9000 to my Philips TV using beam control component i can not rewind (no such button) or even skip to another time except begging of the movie. Is it possible somehow to set the playback time to random location?

Twonky Server & Venton Unibox HD1

Hi,
I have several Twonky versions in use.
I am currently using MiniDnLA Server on Venton Unibox HD1. The stream works and I can watch the movies via my PS3, but the movie directory gets not scanned. New recorded movies does not appear at the PS3 until the Unibox gets (cold) restarted.
So I would like to install the Twonky Media Server at Venton Unibox HD1. With a little help I can manage this, but on my own, I am lost!

Can someone please give me a small manual, how to install the Twonky Media server at Venton Unibox HD1?

Thank you!

DLNA stream stopping every 15-20 mins

Hi, sorry i;m stuck on this one and can;t see an existing solution.

I;m running a Panasonic Veira with the ASUS rt-n56u router and Twonky is running on a zyxel NSA310 NAS box, and am getting regular 15-20 min stream disconnect/crash/freeze when using DLNA.

I'm using wireless but i don't think its a buffering issue. the time period stays the same for any type of video file, and when the freeze happens, Twonky status page reverts to "Not streaming" and the video will never start playing again without navigating away from the file, playing something else for a few seconds, then going back to the original file. Playback apart from this problem is smooth and seamless.

Logs from the NAS dont show anything, i believe i;m on twonky version 7.09.

Has anyone had a similar issue or can anyone give me an idea how i can go about deriving the source of the issue? Currently it could be the router, NAS, TWONKY, or the TV itself as far as i can tell.

Any help gratefully received
Cheers

I use "TwonkyServer 7.0.13" I Samsumg TV serie C that works perfectly. I have an LG Smart 60PM6900 who can not run SRT.

I tested some DLNA servers: (miniDLNA, PS3 Media Server, Plex Media Server and Serviio). All the models worked with SRT.

I really like Twonky and I would not swap it for another, sought alternatives to solve the problem of SRT but not found.

Please somebody help me?

TwonkyServer default sorting behavior

I have just installed TwonkyMedia 6.0.34 into a compatible Nas device based in Linux (a Qnap NAS). In web interface of TwonkyMedia, I see the music tracks under folder 'Directory' appearing in alphabetical order, BUT these tracks are titled beggining with numbers, not by letters!! Result: Twonky disorder my music tracks!!

Curiously, it doesn't occur under folder 'Albums', by exemple. There, the tracks appear ordered considering numbers. If someone have some dubt, i'll add, it is Twonkt that disorder them, not the NAS...

Problem? Yes, because my sistem of numbering and title the hundreds and thousands of tracks makes me prefer to use folder 'Directory' over all the other ones. So, someone could help me, please?

thx

My Book Live, Twonky 7.0.5 and Samsung TV disconnects

$

I have a WD My Book Live and I purchased and updated the Twonky MediaServer on it to 7.0.5. Everything was great. Was able to stream video and music to my DLNA Samsung TV. Yesterday I tried to steam a TV show from the MBL and about 10s into the show, the TV said it was disconnected from the MediaServer. Now the TV will disconnect from it every 10 seconds or so whether I am streaming something or just browsing the folders.
Nothing has changed as I had already updated the firmware on the MBL and my TV before setting Twonky up. So for some reason the TV suddenly is disconnecting.
I have the TV wired to a DD_WRT wireless router set up as a wireless repeated to my wireless router down stairs. To take the wireless equation out of the formula, I moved the MBL to the DD-WRT router so the TV is wired directly to the MBL via the router. No difference at all. So it's not a wireless issue.
Please help because this is the only reason why I bought all this gear... To stream my TV shows.

Tried Twonky 7.2.3, 7.0.13 and 6.0.39 just the last days.
Qnap 809U-rp, NAS running on 4.01 firmware now.

With Samsung BD-C5500 players, different firmwares..
I have more than one player,,

Disconnections, loose of contact with media server happens often.
Tvmobili mediaserver does work if I try that one..

Do like user experience better with Twonky, last changes have made it look sweet..

When googeling found more Twonky users complain about same issue, so it can't be totally new for you?

Server does support two networks, one WiFi and one GB wired

Install Twonky on a ReadyNas 102

I previously has a Buffalo WVL which came with Twonky installed. It worked just as I wanted and I never really had any troubles.

Last month I upgraded to a ReadyNAS 102 which comes with ReadyDLNA and I don't like it at all. It fails to find all files. It leaves out directories. I never had these problems with Twonky.

How do I install Twonky on a ReadyNAS 102 (Marvell Armada 370) ?
I have basic skills within linux but I don't know which package to choose. A simple guide on how to install would be great!

Extreme CPU load with idle TwonkyServer on (desktop) Linux

Hi,

I've been using Twonky for 5 years now, serving mp3s from my NAS. As I have just bought a new Samsung TV with DLNA capabilities, I now also installed TwonkyServer on my Linux desktop machine.

I am running OpenSUSE 12.3 with a kernel 3.10.3 (from OpenSUSE's "Tumbleweed" repository) and TwonkyServer 7.2.3.

My library consists of almost 500 video files, 95% being mpeg2 (dvb recordings); the issue remains with an (almost) empty library (checked with only a single mp3 file).

As soon as I start twonky, the system load rises to approx. 4 (I have a quad core CPU). No clients are streaming any data.

When strace'ing the Twonky process, I can see that it opens /proc/timer_list and continuously reads data from that file. I'd be happy to provide the or at least a chunk of the trace file, but uploading it here seems not to be possible?

Is there some compatibility issue with the kernel I am running? Do you have any additional hints?

Twonky is unusable for me in this state for the intended purpose :(

Problem with internet radio 7.0.5

Internet radio with Twonky 7 (and QNAP NAS)

$

Hi,

I bought a licence of Twonky Special 7, set the cdkey of my twonky server (installed on a QNAP NAS with ARM) and now want to stream internet radio stations. But it does not work.

When I use the pre-installed version 7.0.13 on my NAS there is simply no option in the web configuration to enable something like streamcast and it does not find any internet radio stations that I put into M3U files.

So, because this is a version specially for QNAP devices, I downloaded and installed the version 7.0.12 RC1 and 7.0.9 and set the cdkey there. But when running the twonkystarter like this:

/share/HDA_DATA/twonkymedia-7.0.9/twonkystarter -appdata /share/HDA_DATA/twonkymedia-7.0.9 -inifile /share/HDA_DATA/twonkymedia-7.0.9/twonkymedia.ini -logfile /share/HDA_DATA/twonkymedia-7.0.9/twonky.log

...it prints the following on the console and a few seconds it seems that the twonkyserver is restarted:

[/share/HDA_DATA/twonkymedia-7.0.9] # Twonky Version 7.0.9
For image conversion and scaling the TwonkyServer utilizes ImageMagick. For details on the license please see /share/HDA_DATA/twonkymedia-7.0.9/cgi-bin/convert-readme.txt

So I read that the "mytwonky" service is no longer running, I tried setting disabledmytwonky=1 and mediafusionserverurl= (empty). But it doesn't change anything at all. The twonkyserver keeps restarting until I kill the process...

Any ideas how to get internet radio to work?

Regards,
Michael

PS: I'm using a QNAP TS-210 with an ARM processor. Because there are no special builds for the QNAP devices on the twonky download page, I always used the "kurobox pro" build like twonky-kurobox-pro-special-7.0.9.zip. Was this correct?

Twonky Server only advertises itself once after startup

$

Dear Community,

I am using Twonky Server 7.2.3 on a XEN virtualized OpenSuSE 12.3 host (Kernel 3.7.10-1.4-xen).

The server is running and the web-console reachable on port 9000. The iPhone App PlugPlayer is able to connect to he server and play content after manually entering the connection-url of the server.

Our Panasonic-TV (TX-P46GTS31) can only find and connect to DLNA-Servers automatically. This works without problems to a Twonky-Server 7.2.3 Test-Installation on a MacBook (OS X 10.6.8) but not to the Twonky Server on the Linux host mentioned above.

The Twonky Server on the Linux host is only displayed after restarting the Twonky Servers service with ‘/etc/init.d/twonky stop’ and ‘/etc/init.d/twonky start’ on the Linux command line while the Panasonic Viera application is running. Performing a server restart using the twonky webinterface does not help (shouln’t it have the same effect?).

It seems that Twonky Server only advertises itself once after start of the service on the command line.

I would appreciate any hints to solve this issue! – I will put my twonyserver.ini to the end of this mail.

Thank you very much in advance,

Kind regards,
Michael
