All,

I have 3500 music files and 3342 photos in the following share:

/shares/wallace_share under music and pictures

However Twonky doesn't seem to be able to find all the files, Its currently reporting the following on the status page:

Songs: 2874Photos: 3190

I have tried rescanning the content directories and also tried to rebuild the database via http://192.168.0.100:9000/rpc/rebuild

I just can't seem to get Twonky to find all files.

I'm using Twonky 7.08 Server on Linux (WD My Book Live NAS box).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Key purchased yesterday (13-JAN-2014) worked fine with 6.0.39, but is "Invalid key" for 7.0.12.

I have a WD MyBookLive Duo which came with version 5.x installed. It was not working with my wifes Samsung Note tablet. I installed 6.0.39, purchased a license, and gave it a try. It nearly worked. I found that 7.0.12 was more recent and I installed that. The web interface is MUCH better and I see that the Samsung and my other network devices find the MyBook as a uPnP device now. However the Twonky server is showing the key as invalid. It is the correct key cut/pasted from the email. Anyone else see this???

I have submitted a support request to Twonky and Element 5. The Element 5 folks have basically said to check the code and try again. No response from Twonky folks yet.

Thanks...Ron Rossi <><

Hey Community :)

I Installed Twonkymedia 7.2.5-1 on my qnap NAS via QPKG file and first of all all working fine on other devices like TV (also thumbnailing).
yesterday I tested to get access on my library through the "normal" twonky webinterface (only internal access via LAN).

I went to "http://NAS-IP:9000" and tipped in my username and so on...
Then I see the Preferences page on Twonky, here anything is fine, but If I want to see photos or so on, the hole page is empty.
The same issue on videos and music all pages are empty (Preferences excluded)...

Can somebody helping out ?

Twonky for ASUSTOR

Good day,

I recently bought an ASUSTOR NAS and wanted to get Twonky for it. Didn't find it and created a APKG package for it.

Now: Am I allowed to submit that package to ASUSTOR? Or since I will release the packaging part on github PacketVideo could create it themself.

Cheers
Thomas

No album art after upgrade

I've just upgraded to 7.2.5-2 from (I think) version 6.** on my QNAP TS109 NAS and can no longer see album art on any of my devices (iPod, IPad Air, PC). I'm using Linn Kinsky (latest versions). This is a pretty major issue with a collection of over 34000 tracks! Other answers on the subject of missing album art don't seem to apply or refer to actions that I don't understand!

WD My Live Book 2TB - No standby after Upgrade of Twonky Server

Hello dear community,

I have done an update of the Twonky server on my My Book Live (MBL) over the weekend and am now running into the problem, that my MBL is not putting itself to sleep anymore.

Data:

MBL F/W: 02.43.03 – 022 (current)
Twonky: 7.2.6 (current)

I followed this tutorial on how to upgrade my Twonky server...http://www.sat-ulc.eu/showpost.php?s=... (just swaped the wget link with the current version)

Maybe something went wrong without me noticing anything, but as far as I could see, there were no errors and the Twonky server also started fine.

The problem started occuring after I updated the Twonky server to the latest version, so I presume there is either something wrong with the installation or within the latest version itself.

I am happy for any help I can get, to get this fixed again.

How does twonky album artwork work?

Hi all,

Currently I have two servers running in different machines. One twonky 7.2.6-1 is running on my personal computer with Windows 7. The other is version 7.2.3 and is running on a virtual machine with a linux distro.

The problem is that while in my pc I can see all album art without problem (embedded or with the Folder.jpg file), in the linux version I cannot see covers for the same albums. When I click in the album in the twonky page at 127.0.0.1:9000, what happens is that it can't detect the album art for the first music and so he tags the album art as unknown.

How could I solve this problem (without upgrading the linux version of twonky for now)?

How do I copy an updated config.js onto the server ?

I familiarized myself with phibertron's instructions on relative links for the Twonky webserver, and was able to SSH into my Iomega/Lenovo ix2-dl to access the Twonky v7.0.9 config.js file and make the suggested changes.

http://www.twonkyforum.com/viewtopic....

However, when I try to copy the new config.js file to the server, it gives me an error. I have tried to chmod the file permissions, but to no avail. I stopped the media server on the NAS, but that didn't work. I don't have enough Linux background to figure it out. Any suggestions for uploading altered files ? Thanks !

How to get srt subtitles work with TwonkyMedia 6.0.39 + PS3?

How do I get external (not embedded) srt subtitles to work with TwonkyMedia 6.0.39 + PS3?

The movie file is a Xvid AVI file and the srt subtitle file has exactly the same file name as the avi file (except the file extension of course). Both these files are in the same folder.

I have a Qnap NAS TS-109 Pro II with firmware 3.3.2 buil 0918 (latest) and QPKG plugin TwonkyMedia 6.0.39 (latest) and also the latest firmware on my PS3. Why does TwonkyMedia not stream the subtitles to my PS3? As far as I know it should work.

OGG Stream to ONKYO with Twonky 7.2.5.2

The ONKYO Receiver TX-NR 807 play OGG files out of the box!
I stream OGG files to this ONKYO Receiver from a WD TV Live Hub with Twonky Version 5.1.9 and before with a Raidsonic ICYBOX with Twonky 4.
The Onkyo is listed as 'Generic Media Receiver' in the device list.
This works fine. The ONKYO Receiver display the right file type "OGG Vorbis".

With a new QNAP TS 221 and Twonky 7.2.5.2 i can ́t stream the same files to the ONKYO Receiver. The Receiver display as file type "PCM" and say "File Type not supportet" and skip the file. The Onkyo is listed as 'ONKYO' in the device list.

I find the Thread "Audio Transcoding and Profiles" and have make this changes on the Onkyo.xml file without success.
I change the device type to "Generic Media Receiver" without success.

Now i downgrade the Twonky on the QNAP to Version 7.0.9 and the playing of OGGs works fine.

Custom Navtree for classical: How to use the contentgroup tag

$

According to ID3.org, the 'Content group description' frame is used if the sound belongs to a larger category of sounds/music. For example, classical music is often sorted in different musical sections (e.g. "Piano Concerto"). I tried to exploit the tag for exactly that purpose in my struggle to come up with a satisfying navigation tree for a relatively huge collection of classical music. Problem is, the documentation doesn't mention the apropriate id or anything near to it.
Question: Any chance to use the contentgroup tag for a custom made navtree and how can I achieve it. Thx!

well, i'm an old not-buying-a-software guy. but tw.server was the best investment of , like, equivalent of few beers in last years. excluding hookers.
seriously, was the brightest and the simplest dlna server [as of interface] i tested. no need about fancy settings, just working by default. no problem with viera vt60, no problem with samsung b7020. with subtitles. and is working with any kind of embedded linux on arm devices i have in my house.

Inotify Fix for D-Link DNS-320 devices

$

twonky-kurobox-pro-special-7.0.9 works on the D-Link DNS-320 NAS except that it crashes if
scantime=-1

This is because the wrong syscall numbers are used for the inotify functions (inotify_init() and inotify_add_watch() )

Syscall numbers used by twonky-kurobox-pro-special-7.0.9:
inotify_init: 0x0090013c (0x00900000 + 0x13c)
inotify_add_watch: 0x0090013d (0x00900000 + 0x13d)

Correct syscall numbers for the D-Link DNS-320:
inotify_init: 0x13c
inotify_add_watch: 0x13d

After manually pacthing these values in the "twonkyserver" file, twonkyserver starts up fine and inotify works.

So if you want to add support for D-Link DNS-320 devices, you just have to create a new build based on the kurobox-pro-special build and fix the syscall numbers. (Either by fxing the numbers manually or by using a compatible inotify header file).

I know NAS build are unsupported, I just want to make it easy for you to support this device (if you want to) :)
